Connecting the dots through photos… Authored by Michael Surtees

Revisiting Zaha Hadid

After taking some time to review what I shot the first time (My First Zaha Hadid Building), I realized that everything was from street level. I forgot to shoot any of the building from the High Line. The original intention was to go back to shoot a couple images and add some of the photos to the original post. When I started going through all the images from the second weekend it became clear that I should just do a second series.

Now that I have both sets side by side, the first viewing seems tight. This set seems a lot more relaxed. Perhaps because I knew what I had found interesting the first time both in person and reflecting through the photos I could push the lines a lot more the second time. It probably didn't hurt that I was at eye level thanks to the High Line.

These images by their nature are a lot closer which emphasized the individual shapes that make up the whole. Previously being further out showed how the bigger elements were created by the smaller ones.

Not sure what a third series might tell, but like everything else with this great building it will show something I hadn't expected to see.
