Living Around the Financial District

Having lived a majority of my NYC time in Midtown, if I had been told that I would eventually live near Wall Street I would never have believed them. Yet I do now with my wife. Just like other areas of the city the crowd that flows during the day is different from that in the evening as it is different on the weekends. Many, many years ago when I would explore this area the streets felt incredibly narrow, the sky far away and the speed of people was fast. At the time I would have only have lived in the city for a short period of time so everything was amplified. Now having spent a good deal of time here its easily part of the city I've lived in. Because of the historic nature of the streets my imagination often drifts to other eras and what brought people here. Each building, corner and alley has a story told many times over the years. And right now those stories are new to me.
